The heritage of the famous French dip sandwich was famed to have started at this 1908 brick two story one block from Union Station. The five thousand that enter its` doors daily come from all walks of life and sit at long lacquered tables over sawdust covered floors or at the flat wood booths that line the walls. Yellowing newspaper clippings of press write-ups fill the walls above the feeding crowds searching for nirvana in the beef and lamb sandwiches and ten-cent coffee.
This leisure place offers guests American cooking with a menu based largely on sandwiches. Expect the average entrée to cost under $8.
