One Market gets consistent raves from business people and tourists alike. Yankee pot roast is a favorite, as is the roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes. Best known for the gutsy cooking of celebrity chef Bradley Ogden and new protege Adrian Hoffman, this is a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant serves an American and Californian menu. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20, and patrons are quite appropriate dressing casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: One Market opened in 1993 and has been one of San Francisco`s most popular ever since. You`ll be able to take in the view of Ferry Building and Bay Bridge from many seats here.
Architectually, the restaurant is in an historic structure. The restaurant has an elegant and contemporary décor. The interior is accented by warm tones, enhanced by displayed works by local artists and flowers and plants, and the lighting is warm. Structurally, the restaurant utilizes glass and windows, and this is a white tableclothe restaurant.
The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings with seating for 175 people. It is contemporary and energetic and patroned by all kinds of people. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive. Also, you`ll notice that there are chef tables.

The cuisine here is influenced by availability of fresh fish and shellfish, produce, meats, poultry, game and other products provided by local ranchers and growers. About the Chef: Ogden graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with honors and was the recipient of the Richard T. Keating Award, given to the student most likely to succeed. In March 2000, he returned for his oldest son’s graduation and also presented the keynote speech for the annual graduating class of his alma mater, at which time they bestowed Ogden with the Chef of the Year Award.
