Finally, steak tartare! This and other perenially classy yet underserved dishes like wilted spinach salad, tournedos of beef and fudge pie made with New Orleans chocolate are on the menu at Nieuport 17. Tall and ivied, handsomely and precisely decorated, the Nieuport 17 is a Tirolean hunting lodge/avaiators paradise in an Old World European-style complex in Tustin. Founded by former naval aviator Bill Bettis, the restaurant is hung with hundreds of photos donated by loyal diners of flying aces and classic planes.
Nieuport 17 is a fine dining restaurant that focuses on and serves a Continental cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost over $30, and dress up -- on the nicer side.
