Seattle`s quintessential steak house`s downtown location attracts stockbrokers, tourists, and anyone in search of a great steak. The ambiance is old fashioned, with handsome polished wood, a professional staff, and a roaring cocktail lounge. The most popular steak is the 16 oz. filet mignon garnished with a giant grilled mushroom cap and an enormous baked potato. The 16 oz. New York peppercorn steak is another favorite. Then there`s the 55 oz. Porterhouse platter, which is really meant for two, and the house-aged prime beef. Start with the wonderful panko breaded calamari with aioli. Salads and the daily fish special will please the non-meat eaters in the crowd.
If you go to Metropolitan Grill, you`ll find a steakhouse that offers an American cuisine with a menu based largely on steaks. Expect to pay over $30 per person.
