
This is the most casual of all three of Reed Hearon`s Lulu venues. It has the slate floor and Pottery Barn decor of the other two, but the prices are lower and the service is nonexistent. Oysters on the half shell are favorites in the evenings, but it`s the French-inspired brunches that lure the big crowds of mostly publishing and multimedia types. The poached egg special is light and fresh, and the espresso is hot and plentiful.
Located in a renovated warehouse, this eatery serves up Mediterranean food an emphasis on the raw bar. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20, and dress casual.
Atmosphere: Lulu Café. The place has a colorful and unusual décor. The interior is enhanced by oil paintings and flowers and plants, and the lighting is moderate. Vaulted ceilings add depth with an architectural impact.
The eatery has two dining rooms with seating for 240 people. It has a crowded atmosphere and pulls in a young and hip crowd. Table talk requires you to speak up a bit here.
