Even if you`ve never been to House of Nanking, you have probably noticed the line that snakes down the block at any given hour. Some decry the admittedly less than immaculate interior, but there are plenty of die-hard Nanking-ers from all parts of town who say it is the best Chinese food in San Francisco -- if not the state. The imperial rolls are extraordinary, full of fresh vegetables and delicious pork in a crispy, greaseless wrapper. Hot and sour chicken and pork in garlic sauce are also favorites.
House Of Nanking serves up a Chinese menu. Expect the average entrée to cost under $8.
