Like many Hong Kong style eateries, Gold Mountain is a sprawling restaurant where the only intimacy you can find is in the restrooms. Still, it`s a perfect place to take out of town guests who want a real taste of Chinatown. The dim sum at lunch is highly recommended, and the congee -- a sort of rice gruel -- is Gold Mountain`s claim to fame. Menu items to look for are the sauteed Chinese greens with garlic and ginger, the walnut chicken and the excellent spicy beef chow fun.
Stop in Gold Mountain for a restaurant that dishes up a Cantonese cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12, and dress casual.
