Best known for its imported German beer and the Umpah Band, this bar serves patrons an authentic German cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost $8 to $12, and you`ll be fine if dressed business casual.

Atmosphere: You`ll be able to take in the view of Camelback from many seats at this place. The place has an authentic and traditional European style décor. The interior is accented by red tones, enhanced by murals and flowers at the tables, and the lighting is via chandelier. There are hardwood floors, and tables are covered with linen tableclothes.

The restaurant has four dining rooms. It is friendly and cheerful and patroned by all kinds of people. Table talk is no problem - noise level here is moderate.

An extensive beer list is available, and you`ll find that there is an adequate wine selection. In addition, the place has a seated bar inside.

Of Interest: The owners Harald and Hannelore are from Germany and go out of the way to make your dining experience wonderful. The regular customers they greet by name. The service is fast and very friendly waiters take time to get to know you a little. You get a lot of food for the money. You will never leave the restaurant hungry! The birthday patron gets free dessert-black forest cake or apple strudel.

Details to Note: Reservations are required on weekends. Carryout is available. Smoking is permitted in smoking areas. Children are welcome. Parking has been arranged for customers.

Tips on Finding: From 101 north, go west on Indian School exit.You will go through Scottsdale. When you see the canal and the street starts to wind around, you know you are close. It will be on the north side next to the drycleaners. From 51 go east on Indian School for about 10 minutes. When you see that the road is starting to bend, the restaurant will be on the left.
