Located inside the Kawada Hotel, Epicentre portrays the topsy-turvy aftermath of a cataclysmic earthquake, where dinner can still be served even if the world around you is in pieces. The theme permeates both the decor and the menu. Earthquake artwork dangles on the perimeter next to openings that can only be caused by a geologic event or by the hand of their designer, Janice Cooper. The marble-topped bar is flanked with multicolor bar stools, and pine tables and chairs are scattered about the planned ruins. The California menu offers a variety of palate shaking suggestions, including curried chicken, seafood quesadillas, New York steak, and Kawada salad.
Epicentre specializes in a Californian fare. Expect to pay $12 to $20 per person.
