
Dar Maghreb is a fifteenth century Moroccan royal residence that calls the Sunset Strip home. Resplendent purple lounge seating in the traditional feasting fashion has been respectfully recreated and incorporated in two large dining rooms and outside square complete with gurgling fountain. Wash up at your table and get ready for the multiple courses of Moroccan cuisine as the belly dancers take your mind to a place oceans away.
Serving Moroccan dishes, this is an upscale restaurant. The menu is prix-fixe at $36.00 per person, and you`ll be appropriate if dressed casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: Dar Maghreb opened in 1974. The restaurant has an authentic décor with a Moroccan motif. The restaurant has two dining rooms with seating for 220 people. It is exotic and lively and frequented by a trendy crowd. Table talk is no problem - noise level here is moderate.
More Reasons to Go: If you time your visit accordingly, you`ll get to enjoy the ancient art of belly dancing in a live performance on a nightly basis, and authentic music fills the room while you dine at this place. Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. The cuisine here is influenced by centuries-old Moroccan dining traditions. Your hands are washed at the table before you eat, as you will be eating with your fingers. Some of the more popular menu items here at Dar Maghreb include: Couscous, the traditional staple of North Africa; and B`stilla--chicken, almonds, and eggs in a flaky pastry shell, with powdered sugar and cinnamon on top; and Mint Tea. There is also a prix-fixe menu available.

About the Chef: Chef Mohamed Alaoui trained at the famous Tour Hassan school in Rabat, Morocco, and has cooked for the King.
