Once a club gig for No Doubt (who have since left O.C. and gone platinum), The Cattleman`s Wharf is now a T-bone-meets-haute cuisine joint owned by the La Vie En Rose / White House families. Not that finery should impress the intended audience of Disney-bound ranchers and other plain-food carnivores. The surf-n-turf menu, bloody with porterhouses, sirloin and salmon, is sissified only in the fine print where beurre blanc, bearnaise and escargot creep in. Each room is decorated like a miniature movie set. Best known for Steaks and what comes with, this is an upscale theme restaurant. The restaurant serves French-influenced American with a menu dominated by seafood and steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $20 to $30, and dress business casual.

Atmosphere: Paris. Architectually, the restaurant is in an unusual structure. The restaurant has an original and classic décor. The interior is enhanced by architectural artifacts, and the lighting is by lanterns. The fireplace adds to the atmosphere and mood here, and fountains, in general, are considered graceful -- here complimenting the overall décor. The restaurant has several dining rooms with seating for 550 people. It is comfortable and relaxed and patroned by all kinds of people.

More Reasons to Go: Paris is appropriate (if not ideal) for entertaining clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings, groups and private parties; also, the restaurant is often frequented prior the theatre.

Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner.A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is an excellent wine list. In addition, the establishment has a lounge inside.

Notable Mention: Best French Newcomer.

Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express

Tips on Finding: Ball Road and Walnut St. next door to the US Post Office. 1 1/2 miles North of the Convention Center.
