Chop, chop, hack, hack. Where could you possibly be other than Benihana, where dinner is theater and vice-versa? You sit around a giant "stove" with a group of people and watch your chef go to town dicing, slicing, throwing knives in the air, and -- sometimes you forget this in the excitement of it all -- cooking. Children love Benihana, and if you stick to the simpler menu items, you may too. The steak is usually very good, and the shrimp and vegetable stir-fry, which arrives at your plate only seconds after the chef began cooking it, is hot, tender, and tasty.
This upscale restaurant focuses on and serves a Japanese cuisine where patrons tend to favor steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30, and dress casual.
Atmosphere: is enhanced by displayed artwork, and the lighting is moderate. With seating for 150 people, the restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive. Also, you`ll notice that there is habachi-style cooking.
