Filled with private high-backed booths, this dark, intimate restaurant takes special pride in the exceptional freshness of their fish -- ask about the Hawaiian specials such as opakpaka and mahi mahi. The menu offers many excellent appetizers (the calamari particularly stands out) and some very good Italian-style veal and chicken dishes for those who don`t eat fish. Offering guests a modern American cuisine and is most sought for their lobster, steaks and seafood, this is an upscale bar & grille. Expect the average entrée to cost over $30, and guests dress casual, but fashionable.

Atmosphere: You`ll be able to take in the fountain view from many seats at this restaurant. Structurally, the restaurant utilizes a good deal of glass and windows. The restaurant has a contemporary and stately décor. The interior is accented by blue tones, enhanced by oil paintings and flowers at the tables, and the lighting is warm. This is a white tableclothe restaurant.

The establishment is very spacious with seating for 350 people. It is intimate and romantic. Table talk is easy - this restaurant is quiet and subdued.

More Reasons to Go: Nick`s Fishmarket Chicago is appropriate (if not ideal) for entertaining clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings, groups and private parties; also, the restaurant is often frequented prior the theatre.

Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. The menu here at Nick`s Fishmarket Chicago changes on a seasonal basis depending on freshness and availability. Some of the more popular menu items include: the light and flaky dover sole from Holland, dusted in seasoned flour & sautéed til golden brown and the roasted salmon fillet, oven roasted with an Asian barbecue glaze and accompanied with sautéed Oriental vegetables and white rice.

A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is an excellent wine list. In addition, the restaurant has both a lounge and a seated bar inside.

Details to Note: Reservations are suggested. Smoking is allowed at the bar. Parking has been arranged for customers.
