Set in a two-story wooden structure built in 1872, just after the Great Chicago Fire of the year before, Green Door Tavern has been around for about 125 years. The old building leans about five degrees out of plumb, but, despite its age, is not likely to collapse anytime soon, a fact that pleases the regulars at this Chicago landmark. A saloon that serves a basic grill menu, including 20 different varieties of hamburgers, Green Door Tavern draws a mix of patrons that includes young professionals, blue collar workers, and a regular stream of celebrities, including recently Dennis Rodman and Bill Kurtis.
This bar dishes up American dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost under $8.
Eating & Drinking: A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served. You`ll find that there a seated bar inside.
