An old standby at the heart of Devon`s lively Indian and Pakistani strip, Gandhi India serves dishes "rooted in the soil of North and South India." There is an extensive list of vegetarian offerings (the mattar paneer -- homemade cheese with green peas -- is particularly good), as well as an appealing array of lamb and chicken dishes. Be sure to try the mirchi pakora, an appetizer made of hot banana peppers stuffed with Indian spices and gram (chickpea) flour.
Here you`ll find a place that serves an east Indian menu. Expect the average entrée to cost between $8 and $12, and dress casual.
