Shamelessly appealing to the endurance of Margaret Mitchell`s "Gone With the Wind" that Atlantans blush to acknowledge, Pittypat`s Porch is a tourist heaven. It`s definitely dress-up, and it quaintly ignores the fact of the huge parking garage directly overhead. (Miss Pitty lived a life of denial, after all.) The hostess really is in ante bellum drag, and the fare is what one thinks ought to be Southern cuisine but thankfully and usually isn`t: fried chicken and biscuits to half-hearted attempts at New Southern like venison pie.
Visit Pittypat`s Porch and you`ll get a restaurant that dishes up southern American dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and dress casual.
