This tiny bodega is where all the local Cubans go to find a meal like those their "abuelitas" made for them. No wonder, because Maida, the wife of owner Felipe Alvarez, does all the cooking, ruling the kitchen with an iron hand. Las Palmeras is the neighborhood drop-in spot for a Caribbean milkshake and some black beans with your Kierkegaard a la Felipe, who is famous for his philosophical nature.
This eatery offers a Cuban menu. Expect to pay under $8 per person.
