Cafe Diem has a little something for everybody in this Intown coffee house setting: poetry readings regularly, one computer for the wirehead-in-withdrawal, and a variety of teas and espresso machine creations, as well as some light continental fare such as brie and baguette, gyros, and various pastas. The environment is unreconstructed beat-generation, though not too shabby.
