Blues Alley really sits on its own street, off Wisconsin, called (aptly enough) "Blues Alley." There is always a steep cover charge; the music, rather than the food, is the main draw. The "dinner club" is a very small dining area and the tables are very close together. The stage stands just above the guest and there is no room for dancing. The food has a New Orleans touch, featuring gumbo, chicken fingers and sandwiches, which are good, if a bit pricey.
Stop in Blue`s Alley for a place that serves Creole meals. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20, and you can dress any way you choose -- within reason.
