As the longest-lasting Vietnamese restaurant in the city, devotees come here for the warm greetings and genuine Vietnamese cooking. The basement space could use some work, but not the food, which gets ratings as high as Upper East Side French establishments. Necessary starters: spring or summer rolls, cool chicken salad, beef jerky papaya salad, Vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork, and shrimp paste grilled on sugar cane. Other choices include assorted seafood and meat rice stick in soup, caramel fish with black pepper, and grilled lemon grass fish filet.
Here you`ll find a place that serves patrons a Vietnamese fare. Expect the average entrée to cost under $8.
