The sister restaurant has been thriving in Milan since the 1950s, and now the Meacci family have transported their magical powers to the New York theater district. David Rockwell designed the wildly inspired and off-kilter dining room full of antiques, pretty plates, photos and collages, plus a huge looming clock to remind you to get to your Broadway show on time. Signature dishes include pan-fried artichokes with Parmigiano-Reggiano, spaghetti with shrimp, garlic and crushed red pepper, beef tenderloin filled with mozzarella. Their tiramisu is positively splendid.
Go to Torre Di Pisa for a place that serves you an Italian cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12, and dress casual.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner.
Notable Mention: One of New York`s better restaurants.
Details to Note: Reservations are accepted. Carryout is available. Entrances and walkways are wheelchair friendly. The place stays open late.
