The offspring of a Bleecker Street restaurant in the West Village, this quiet and clean North Indian mecca makes authentic tandoori and wonderful breads, such as whole wheat paratha stuffed with mashed potatoes and peas, and round onion kulcha. Vegetarian dishes abound, and there`s also baked lamb marinated in yogurt, and yummy shrimp in a creamy spinach sauce. A recent renovation spruced things up and added a few booths, but Islander families especially love it for take-out and delivery.
If you try out Taste Of India Ii, you`ll find a place that serves east Indian dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost between $8 and $12.
