Cute as a button, Tartine has hand-written menus and windows planted with a profusion of plants and flowers. There`s a simple selection of soups, a fresh beet and endive salad, grilled salmon with raspberries, polenta with mushrooms, thyme and Swiss cheese, quiche with red peppers, onions, goat cheese and basil, and brandade de morue served in a casserole. There`s a splendid dessert case and puffy croissants, and it`s almost impossible to get in for brunch. They just underwent a renovation to tidy things up a bit, and one only wishes they could have added more tables.
