Some neighborhood foodies swear this is the best Japanese around, with fresh and delectable sushi and sashimi in a clean, unpretentious atmosphere. Ways to start are seafood soup, seaweed salad, steamed crab dumplings, sweet potato croquettes, and fried asparagus wrapped in salmon and seaweed. Soba and udon noodles are deluxe, and for meat courses they pride themselves on making their own sauces rather than typical teriyaki; beef is flavored with a soy-garlic sauce and pork with ginger. From 5:30-7 p.m. a $9 early-bird special includes soup or salad, udon noodles, sushi and two complementary dishes.
If you go to Takahashi, you`ll find a place that serves Japanese cooking especially known for sushi. Expect the average entrée to cost from $8 to $12.
Eating & Drinking: Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both beer and wine are served.
Details to Note: Reservations are not accepted. Entrances and walkways are wheelchair friendly. The place stays open late.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express
