Serving organic, macrobiotic fare with Asian accents in a warm, soothing atmosphere for the past 20 years, with pretty lighting, light pastel walls and bunches of dried flowers. Starters include tahini noodles, tempeh with ginger vegetable sauce, tofu scrambled with scallions and carrots, and vegetable tempura. There are quite a few larger seafood and vegetarian courses, obento boxes and sushi, and sides of organic whole grain breads, steamed greens, homemade pickles, and marinated burdock root. Nutritious breakfast specials are served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and even the drinks are healthy, with fresh-squeezed juices, organic coffee and wines.
Souen is a place that specializes in an American cuisine known for their vegetarian meals. Expect the average entrée to cost roughly $12 to $20, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual.
