Named after an Italian card game similar to blackjack, on the walls of this spare, low-ceilinged room are paintings of young ruffians and old codgers engaging in the pastime. White-clothed tables are set with bottles of olive oil and small pepper mills, ready for the tricolore salad with peppers, mushrooms, olives and capers, the penne with radicchio, smoked provola cheese and pancetta, and the baked whole red snapper with vinaigrette, mint and garlic. Another outstanding dish is a potato encrusted chicken breast with arugula and tomatoes.
This fine dining restaurant offers guests an Italian cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost $20 to $30, and plan to fit the scene by dressing casual.
