This tried-and-true restaurant and bar is the theater-district equivalent of a neighborhood place. Known for having great hamburgers, Sam`s humble, chalkboard menu also features lobster, grilled salmon, and certified Angus beef-steaks. With neat, blue-and-white checked tablecloths, bentwood chairs, and brick walls lined with theater posters, the surroundings are dark, cozy, and familiar--qualities (along with affordability) that attract theater folk. It is not uncommon to find Broadway stars here: seeking refuge, hanging out, or, on occasion, giving the little piano a star-turn.
Sam`s 263 West serves you Italian food an emphasis on seafood and steaks. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12, and plan to fit the scene by dressing casual.
More Reasons to Go: The live piano adds to the ambience at this restaurant Wednesdays through Saturdays.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. There`s a weekend brunch.
Details to Note: Reservations are accepted. Carryout is available. Smoking is permitted in smoking areas.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club
