Everything is homemade at this cheerful Cal-Mex joint, from tortillas to chips to salsa. There is a sushi-like counter for solo diners, and the light yellow and deep blue room is decorated with scary tin mask sconces. Fajitas are the house specialty, but there are also big burritos; generous quesadillas; and Vera Cruz soft tacos with char-grilled beef, chicken, or shrimp. They emphasize low-fat healthiness, and fiery spices are added according to taste. Service is not swift, but prices are low enough to grant forgiveness.
If you go to Samalita`s, you`ll find a place that focuses on a Mexican cuisine.
