
Down a cobblestoned driveway lies this utterly breathtaking restaurant famous for its waterfront view of Manhattan and its cuisine. To start there`s grilled jumbo quail and white hominy, and a crab and white asparagus salad with sevruga caviar. Entrees include roasted Amish-farm chicken with sorrel-whipped potatoes, charred filet of pork with tamarind essence, and braised walleye pike with couscous, morels and sweetwater ragout. People reserve up to six months in advance for tables on prime nights, but lunch and brunch spots aren`t so difficult to get (and the meals are lower-priced).
Visiting River Café, you`ll find a fine dining establishment that focuses on new American. Expect the average entrée to cost over $60.
