Good Food, poor Service I recently ate at Sushi Zanmai with a large group of people and have never been so insulted in my life. I called and made a reservation for 12 people in a private room about 2-3 weeks ahead. I called the day of the dinner to say we would be running late due to the slight blizzard outside, that is when they informed me that I would be only having 2 hours to have dinner for 12 people. What restaurant limits your time to eat, especially with 12 people? Needless to say we arrived and were seated, we preceded to rack up a big bar tab and order a boat load of sushi. Our food arrived at 8:45. 10 minutes later our waitress came to tell us that we needed to finish up dinner because the next party was there to eat dinner. So $400 into our dinner they want to kick us out. So needless to say many people in the party were mad due to the rudeness of the manager and staff. Not once did they offer to knock money off our bill or try to move us elsewhere. They constantly blamed us for not being able to finish our dinner. They threatened to kick us out, and to call the cops on us. I always thought the customer was right when it came to service. I guarantee Outback Steakhouse or Chili's would never kick someone out and not let them finish their dinner. Well we ended up paying the bill, but I will never eat there again. I highly suggest if someone wants sushi in the Boulder area go to Hapa and sit in a big booth or go to Japango they are right down the street and have great service, they would never kick there customers out of the restaurant, when in the first place it was there fault that they never told me about the 2 hour time limit. If they had told me I know I wouldn't have made the reservation in the first place. Please tell me if anyone knows of a restaurant where 12 people can dine in 2 hours? Maybe McDonalds? But even they would treat there customers better then this place.
