Casual with a funky Cajun edge, Acme Bar and Grill serves up your Louisiana favorites at moderate prices. Monday night all you can eat fried chicken is popular and for good reason. The chicken here is particularly good. Crispy and crunchy with moist meat inside, and it's not too greasy. Very good cornbread is on your table, and the bar pours a generous drink. Other noteworthy entrees are the Po'boys and the "chicken fried" items, which have a fresh taste unlike those of many competitors. The mashed potatoes with gravy are among the best in the city and the cole-slaw is the best kind, not with a mayo base but not too vinegary either. For a good hearty meal and an authentic Cajun ambiance, Acme Bar and Grill is where you want to be.
