The restaurant's original owners are Lidia and Felice Bastianich not Felidia and Felix. `Felidia` is a combination of their first names. The restaurant's dishes are indiginous to northern Italy and not `Slavic` as you state. Istria, where they are both from is an Italian town lost to Yugoslavia after WWII which is when Lidia's family left. So if you think her dishes have a `slavic` flavor to them, it's because the `Slavics` and `croatians` that now occupy this area have adopted the Italian dishes versus the other way around
