July 2009 Visit Walk-in for a Take-Out order.I went for lunch. Apparently a local little league baseball game had just concluded and everyone, players, families, and spectators decided to go there for lunch.
The wait staff had been reduced, a common cost cutting measure, because the restaurant had been very dead all morning. The sudden influx of patrons caught everyone by surprise. There was a line out the door, all the tables were either being used or had been and required cleaning.
My order was taken by the hostess who was somewhat unfamiliar with the computer used to ring up the bills and send a paper ticket to the kitchen for take-outs. So naturally my order was a bit off, but it was all there and after double checking the ticket I had what was printed out.
Pros: The food was what I (mostly) ordered, it was hot and fresh. The containers were well packed, and the staff got me my food promptly.
Other Notes: The mistake in the order was not something I will ever recommend actually asking for. Mushroom and Swiss Patty Melt. This was a missed button push by the hostess.
Cons: The duties of the wait staff and the lack of staff, overlapped with the sudden in surge of people did leave the restaurant in an untidy condition. They needed more people busing the tables so at the very least they could seat people. There were tables available for a majority of the people in line but the wait staff were so busy with orders they had no time to clean their section.
I would eat there again and do recommend it to anyone wanting a good burger and fries.
Suggestions to the Restaurant: Put paper towels back in the bathrooms. Its nice to be able to wash your hands before you eat and maybe wipe your face. The high power hand dryer is cool, but it doesn't beat paper towel.
Get a dedicated bus boy/ cleaner to help maintain the facility, bus tables, and clean up the parking lot. This isn't a side job for the waitress or cook.
Wipe off the ketchup bottles once in a while, they get greasy from use.
