Joshua, Just to start my story, I am 54 now, but I remember the Alpine Inn from the days I would spend the summer with Grandma and Grandpa. Grandpa would take us kids to the Tasty-Freeze and get us a `large` soft-serve dipped in chocolate. Now you know Omaha summers, these melt quick, consequently we all learned how to eat them quickly and not become a soft serve mess. Okay, grandpa would take us to the `Glass of Wine` as we called it and we would sit in the car while Grandpa ran in for just a minute. Just about the time we were done mastering the task of eating the ice cream here would come grandpa after his drink. We used to take the chicken dinner home and they were the best ever. I wanted to share with you a lil story that might cheer you up. so last friday night myself and my roommate went to a local bar and met a man. After he finished grinding on his dentured wife, he told us stories of the bar we were at and how he used to bounce there, and how he got stabbed by his buddy who was trying to stab someone else, and i digress from the story. We like his style, so we ask him what other nearby bars we should check out, hoping for a bar crawl if possible. He proceeds to draw us a map with crayons of a bar called the alpine inn. This evening we frequented the alpine inn, and it did not disappoint. They sorta throw their trash outside in front of this big window, and everyone watches stray cats and raccoons eat the garbage, like it's no big whoop. Families bring kids even. I think I'm officially in love.
