that's a lie. I have been going here for the past 5 years. The person that is claiming things about Kevin is probably Kevin himself (owner); trying to promote the new restaurant. If you do not believe, try only once and you will remember this review. The food has changed ever since Su-Shin got new owners. They increased the affordability of the food; making it increasingly expensive. they also introduce thai food now; fried rice ranging in 13-18 dollars. get a grip. you can buy a takeout for half of that.
the shashimi grade is not the same as Otto's (previous owner) selection. these shashimi bought by Thai people are much cheaper and you can generally tell the grade by its color. The more dark, the more old it is (remember protein deteriorates being exposed to temperature and oxygen). The lighter and vibrant the color (previous owner), the more fresh.
If you are aiming to eat E.Coli and Salmonella then be my guest and eat lower grade shashimi used in preparation of making sushi here.
The entire place has gone even further down scale. Better sushi restaurants around; Old Sushin will be missed.
PROS: Mark and Alex are still there CONS: everything else; expensive, food, not tasty, and an atmosphere that is not family oriented anymore.

Spectacular food. Since Kevin came to Su Shin, the food has been elevated to a culinary experience that you will never forget. He is creative and fun to watch. You have to go there. -- 8/1/2008 2:10:23 PM
