I've been to over 100 sushi places in 6 different counties and sorry dude but Akira's blows. You've been going there for about 10 years so your use to the bad taste. If better food was served to you, you still wouldn't know the difference. Akira's low quality food has gotten you 'labeled'. Just like Starbucks coffee has gotten me 'labeled', I can't drink any other coffee. And don't bang down on Benihana, believe it or not they are the original, which means the original flavor. Akira's will always only be one hole in the wall of the boonies in Bakersfield, but everyone will know who Benihana's are forever.- Is follow up to post by hooligan1981 ...
One word "AWESOME." Akira's is the best restaurant to serve Teppan on the West Coast. Sorry to say, but Benihana doesn't even compare to how good Akira's is. I've been going there for 10+ years and have never had a bad experience. The sushi is awsome and so is the tempura!! -- 8/28/2006 12:55:15 PM
