I think your dumb, being a former local, a former employee (2002, worked for the original owners, and worked with the current owner) not to mention an extreme regular, I saw this restaurant from when it first came to town (In a different location might I add) to its new home, and from being family owned, to the new owner. I can tell you that this owner changed only changed one thing, and that is the owner. The current owner is a very savvy individual, and was one of the main cooks and preparer for years before taking over ownership! Yes I will say, after spending years in the old big fish tank/ T-shirt covered dinning room, to the current form (its been a few years now, so I'm sure there collection is back up, minus the fish tank) I'm more than sure that none of the preparation or recipes were not changed. sorry you feel that it was only pretty good. I've since moved away for about 5 years now, and I've yet to have a white pizza that is as good as Salerno's. Salerno's in my mind is one of the best Italian food/pizza restaurants in the world (I've tried pizza in 7 states, and 5 Countries), and Lexington is lucky to have such a successful dinning gem. Kirk, keep up the good work! I sure hope there open this thanksgiving weekend! I haven't had there food In two years now, and have a new wife who is sick of hearing about this Salerno's place and is really to try it for her self!
