ggcatta, I gotta say that your had a bad day. In the 15 years I have been dining at Cafe Abbracci's I have never experienced `tasteless pasta` especially, when their black linguini is made fresh everyday. The food is usually on the money and if a dish is either not presented properly or just not to your liking, the onwer, Nino Pernetti will personally make sure that something is prepared within five to six minutes and will comp your meal. Like I said, maybe you had a bad day. I hope that you would give it another try and when you do, ask for Nino Pernetti the owner, and explained to him what happen last time you were there, i guarantee you that your experience will be completely different.- Is follow up to post by ggcatta ...
I have eaten there several times.
The last time we had mixed
results, of the 4 main courses we
had two were good two not good.
Very good was the tuna, medium
rear, the chop lambs were good
but the two pasta dishes were
below average. The entrees were
ok. The desert were very
disapointening. The so called
sambayon, something easy to
do, simple and delicious if
properly done was anything but a
sambayon.
We called the attention of the
waiter to the so called sambayon
he kind of checked and told us it
was properly done. Which was
not in our opinion.
I wonder why some otherwise
good restaurants think that they
can serve anything like tasteless
pasta dishes and a mock of a
dessert? This would never
happen in Italy.....are we asking
too much?, the dinner for four
with two bottles of wine was not
that
inexpensive, the wine only was
$100 dollars($50 dollars each)
plus tax......... -- 10/7/2003 1:34:23 AM
