My husband and I visited Schooner's in 2007 on our 11th anniversary trip to St Aug. I was expectant but skeptical at the same time--I'd heard food was great, but that everything else sucked. I was surprised at the LINE when we got there (around 6 or 7 on a Saturday). We waited no more than a half hour for a table (we lucked out and got a booth!) I ordered fried shrimp; hubby ordered chicken fingers (he loves me, but not seafood, so at least he came to a seafood restaurant!). The chicken fingers were nice and crunchy, served with a really tasty dill mayo type sauce. My shrimp were cut in half (think butterflyed, but they went all the way through, so they looked like jester hats!) and lightly fried--oh, they were so tasty! They had to be so fresh! We were both so thrilled with our meals and the cost was great too. I think between teh two of us (no alcoholic drinks) we were under $30! Yummy. I can't wait to go back for MEmorial Day!
