Part 2: from Nov. 05:Anyway, we all paid cash, and what REALLY got us (on top of all this) is...we all double checked we all had the correct amount (overpriced amount!) plus tips - since the bill was not separated but we were all paying separately. Everyone then put their cash on the table and stood up.
Well, the waitress grabbed the cash (how quickly she finally returned THEN!!), stepped aside in the dark for a moment or two, and then yelled at us not to leave. At first we thought she was unhappy with the total tips she received (which were VERY decent considering), but as it turned out, she then went ahead and accused us of being $60 short on the bill!!!!!!!! Which was TOTAL BS since we had all each double/triple checked the correct amounts were there to make sure!!
The waitress had worked out the bill/s herself and handwritten the calculations, so one of our thoughts is she miscalculated...
A manager came along, the waitress said the $60 short thing (which was not true, we ALWAYS pay our bill, inclu. tip!!)...they actually physically tried to stop us from leaving in front of the rest of the guests, which infuriated me, and next thing I know I was loudly and strongly objecting to that with `Get your hands OFF me, I am a PAYING customer!!`
...sorry, maybe it's because my husband is a chef and I've learnt a lot about restaurants and businesses in the last few years, but we have come to expect a certain level of professionalism out of the service industry - turns out this restaurant had NO professionalism at ALL...
PART 3 coming!!
