well...I have been to steak houses all over the USA from Gibson's in Chicago to Gallagher's in Manhattan and I've got to tell you, the KC Steakhouse will never make the list of even acceptable steak houses.Average on a good day. Wilted lettuce. Typical out of the freezer vegetable combo, I'm sure the escargot are out of a can.
The steaks, you can get a better cut at Albertsons. They kitchen seems to be out of order because a simple rib eye takes way to long and generally shows up too cold. It should be sizzling on your plate.
Now for the good. The drnks are fine. The staff is above average. The decor is prime steakhouse, it's the food that leaves me pause.
I'm not a food snob, but really, they need to add a beef dip sandwich so they can have something that hits the mark every time on the menu. You're taking your chances in terms of quality with just about anything they offer.
High quality meats and vegetables? Not here.
I've taken colleagues there and they have sent back the veal, scampi, rib eye and swordfish. Pretty sure it all comes frozen. And likely from a cheaper source of produce.
Too bad because Bakersfield could use a great steakhouse. This, unfortunately, isn't it.
