You two (choco1 & shirley1958) obviously don't have taste buds. I get tired of reading reviews from people who have eaten terrible food since birth and don't have the knowledge necessary positively critique what good food even taste like. I have visited Dixie Kitchen since its inception and enjoy the food from time to time with my entire family. The Hyde Park location has the best of the Chicagoland area locations. It not better than authentic creole/cajun, but definitely a good eatery. If no one ever complimented your home cooking or your mom's - more than likely you have never known what good food taste like. People who don't cook and eat well can't review well. - Is follow up to post by shirley1958 ...
I agree. My first visit was September 30th and I will never darken that door again.
