  From the GM at Fuji:

To anyone reading this, let me clarify the evening:

We have a policy for our Karaoke parties of no outside alcohol. This is pretty simple, and standard amongst most restaurants. When this party arrived, our staff noticed a bottle of vodka on the table, and immediately said that it can not be consumed here. The terms we post on our wall outside the Karaoke room also state our policy of no outside alcohol.

This party decided to drink their own liquor, even after being warned. They continually ordered just bottles of coke, or glasses of cranberry juice (these were the drinks they were purchasing `all night`)-it was fairly obvious what was happening. We do keep cameras on our karaoke room, and watched as the party drank their own liquor, hiding it in the bathroom, and rudely attempting to push out our staff from checking the room for liquor.

This party, after being charged the $200 she mentioned above, said `How are we supposed to know you can't have your own alcohol?`... Let me ask this: If you really didn't know you can't have your own alcohol, why hide it in the bathroom, and ignore requests by the staff to remove it?

The party was not asked to leave, but decided on their own to leave after finding their own alcohol was gone. (We confiscated one bottle of open vodka early in the night, and later found 2 other bottles, one rum, and one more vodka.)

99% of parties at Fuji never experience any problems.. it's the few that choose to ignore the rules that do. The $200 we charged to the credit card on file was our fee for bringing their own alcohol, as well as for damages to a chair in our bar. All mentioned clearly in our terms.

Regarding our food... It's by far the best sushi in the city.

In fact, if you read this, come visit us at Fuji, try our food, and mention you saw THIS crazy review, and I'll buy you a drink! Just ask for the manager.

Thanks for reading!

Do NOT go to this restaurant. Private kareoke room was rented at an exhorbatant price for a small salad for 30 people and entrees with no sides. No alcohol policy was stated and were threatened to be kicked out for bringing our own. Drinks were purchased from the overpriced bar all night and still the staff was cocky with all members of the party. Told we had 15 minutes to leave at midnight when the room was paid until 2am. Also, took a bottle of alcohol that had been given as a gift and dumped it and told us the bill would show a bottle of vodka at $45. Also charged an extra $200 to the credit card for "other fees." BAD STAFF and mediocre food. -- 6/25/2007 9:35:59 PM
