Gilbert's is one of those places that warrants a multi hour drive to park, eat, and drive back home. The humble seafood shack is a shrine of sorts to those who want an amazing seafood meal without the overpriced menu. The Super Seafood Chowder simply must be had to be believed. A wonderful stock is chock full of Lobster, Scallops, Shrimp, Lump Crabmeat. There is literally more seafood than stock in each cup. For the ultimate meal, order a medium sized portion with a Lobster Roll (for those that don't know, New England Lobster Rolls are far superior to those found on Long Island and other regions that serve a Lobster Salad. Here, it's as simple as a toasted roll, large chunks of Lobster, and a lil' mayo.) Top off your meal with a pint of Shipyard's Export Ale or Fuggles I.P.A. for one of the best meals of your life.
