Ippolito's-Suwanee has been a family favorite for years for excellent food and service. In the past year, however, the service has been fair to poor at best. First, let me say the food itself is almost always terrific IF you can actually have it served on time and when hot food is NOT cold and cold food is NOT warm. Sadly, the new location and digs have not improved on what has been wrong with Ippolitos for the last few years. The new location is extremely loud (no conversation possible here)& the family ambience has been traded for a yuppie look. Our waiter, although nice, was either a novice to a busy restaurant or just didn't care. We could never find him to bring simply things like drink refills, napkins, etc. Our order consisted of Cheese Raviolis with Cardinale sauce and a large Antipasto. We had to ask for the garlic rolls & when the Cesaer salad arrived, it was not the usual generous portion on a dinner plate but a small bowl of greens and croutons. Forty minutes later and we still did not have our meal. After hunting down our waiter and inquiring about our meal, the raviolis were brought out, but still NO Antipasto. My husband insisted I begin eating my meal so it would not get cold...sorry to say that the raviolis were hot on the outside and COLD on the inside. Again, had to chase down our waiter to return the meal and wait for the Antipasto. Instead of bringing me a new plate of food, they nuked the original meal and returned that so now the sauce was a bit dry on the outside. The anipasto finally showed up 5 minutes later. Twenty minutes later, one of the management staff came by and said `so sorry about the meal` and left. She never really stopped to converse, more like a `drive by` apology. This whole experience was bad from the start and sad to say, this is not the first time Ippolitos has responded poorly when service/food is not up to par. We had our `first date` at Ippolitos Suwanee and have been patrons for years. Sadly, this ended the relationship much to our great disappointment.
