Our daughter's birthday is today and her request was to go back to Sam Selzers Steakhouse in Sarasota to celebrate. This is her 4th year in a row going to your restaurant. She visits from Conneticut every year for her birthday. We called yesterday before 5PM for reservations at 6:30PM today. We got there on time and wa told we had a 10 to 15 minute wait. That would have been fine. Our buzzer went off at 6:55PM. We waited to be seated for 15 minutes after that. We were seated at 7:10. We left our table at 9:05PM. We had to wait for our server, when someone finally came, we ordered. My husband and I asked for no croutons and I aske for my dressing on the side. We both had croutons and my dressing was in the salad. I ordered the Blue Cheese Filet done meduim-well and it was very rare, my dauhter the same steak done meduim-rare and it was cooked more then mine. My husband ordered the N Y Strip done meduim and it was bloody on the end and raw in the middle. Both steaks were taken back. We waited some more. We do ralize that this was not our server's fault and that there is a shortage of servers. He even explained to us that he had to make the salads, put the rolls in the basket and cut the lemon I asked for in my iced tea. Once we finishd eating, we waited l5 minutes to get our chek because our server was so busy. Even the manager was carrying out trays and serving dinners. The whole birthday thing was not good. The steaks were very good once they were cooked right and we frequent your steakhouse regularly, but tonight was a total disappointment to us and our daughter for her birthday. I feel someone should be told about this situation and since the manager was so busy trying to get he food to the customers we couldn't get a chance to talk to him.
