My family and I have been going to this place for nearly 30 years (even walked in once when a VERY tipsy Roberto Duran tried to get up on stage and sing salsa) and we have never, ever been let down. For beginners, I always suggest to start off by ordering the 1492 appetizer, which is a sampler of traditional Cuban dishes (fried yuca, pork chunks, and this breaded chicken which is so good I cannot even describe the flavor it's so good). Mt mom makes a killer Lechon Asado every Christmas Eve, as traditionally us Cubans eat on that night, but Victor's comes a very close second. That, for me, says a lot.- Is follow up to post by eulices777 ...
I've been to this restaurant SEVERAL times and have NEVER been let down. The food is VERY authentic (I'm Cuban) and the sangria (red) is out of this world. You usually have to wait a while if you don't have reservations but it is DEFINITELY worth it! -- 8/3/2006 9:55:22 AM
