  VISITOR REVIEW

I could probably agree with all the other good reviews and all the less than good or bad reviews about Tadich. As for the sometimes brusque, wryly humorous, or teasing jaded waiter style, I can often find humor in that style. But, I have something in particular to add about Tadich in my rather negative ending to one otherwise nice Tadich experience.

My dinner companions and I ate a leisurely meal, but we did not loiter inconsiderately and endlessly hog the table, as I think that most people, when a restaurant gets really busy, have the etiquette not to do. But, rather soon after we paid our bill (my leaving a 20%, no less, tip), and as we were actually finishing up our hot tea, we were suddenly and *SUMMARILY* told by our waiter that, `you have to leave because we're busy tonight.` `It's a *business* decision,` he said. Wanting to make nice, we/I didn't even get a chance to finish my tea and left it in, literally, mid cup. We were, to put it succinctly, SUMMARILY KICKED OUT.

So, I can believe that, perhaps, as some other reviewers have put it, the waiters only care about very high turn-over volume and rather high check averages -- undoubtedly made up of a very high tourist volume of most people the waiters never have to see again, and not count on such people's repeat business. Therefore, you might not get the consideration that you would at even an expensive neighborhood restaurant that relies more on Bay Area resident diners, rather than as much (if not much more) on tourist or out-of-town convention or conference diners, as my dinner companions, indeed, were.

BUT, you won't see me bringing my out-of-town friends to Tadich's anymore for a `quintessential` San Francisco dining experience. With crowded 45-minute lines out the door, even in cold weather. Tadich certainly won't worry about my business, but, I'll find some other iconic San Francsico/Marin/Berkeley dining experience for my friends, at a place that relies as much on Bay Area diners -- and *that's* the repeat business Tadich will lose.
