My boyfriend and I made reservations at Vini’s for New Year’s. When we arrived, there were plenty of seats open, but not for our party of two. That’s fine; I can deal w/ waiting half an hour to be seated. Finally, we were seated and served. I ordered salmon and it was completely raw!! I informed the waitress, she apologized and took it away only to come back later w/ the same salmon that I had just eaten from. I didn’t say anything as I did not want to spoil my bf’s experience. The next day, I called the manager, who said his name was “Tony”. He stated that there was nothing wrong w/ putting my salmon back on the grill as the grill is so hot, nothing can live on there. I explained to him that a fine restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter, should not have these practices. He then said, that they did this because they were, “so busy last night”. I explained to him that this was no excuse; a fresh salmon should have been placed on that grill. Then he went on to tell me that the reason they did it was because that was the last salmon!! I stated that another meal of my choice should have been offered to me, if this was the case. Then the manager stated that they “usually” serve their salmon raw and it was all the waitress’ fault. He said it was up to her to ask me how I wanted it cooked and it was her fault that the cooks put my salmon back on the grill because the cooks do what they are told. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with the manager’s lack of efficiency and failure to try to make it better. This was my first experience at Vini’s. I feel that the staff and manager should have gone out of their way to ensure our satisfaction, especially considering the price!!
