Very disappointing restaurant; the appetizers were greasy and the grilled fish and chicken was served cold. The best dish was the grilled lamb with couscous. The atmosphere was not inviting and the waitress was unattentive. This was both a waste of time and money. While the decor is somewhat inviting, the food and waitstaff need further work. The restaurant has potential but clearly the person behind the scene has an idea but lacks vision.- Is follow up to post by terryhallinan ...
This Senegalese restaurant moved across the street to expanded 2nd floor quarters and is now the Africa Kine restaurant. This out-of-towner was confused by reviews of the "Africa" restaurant.
The fish was delightful and quantities were more than ample. The lamb was not to this American couple's taste. It was reminiscent of the food in an upscale Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago that this reviewer did not appreciate either.
The prices are very modest and a single dish would easily have satisfied both of us.
The lighting is bright, the decorative motif modest but quite tasteful like the food. The waitress was as delightful as the food.
